SPEED MEASUREMENT DEVICES

Prolite
The Traffic Unit utilizes a number of advanced technologies to monitor and enforce the speed limits. Aside from state of the art radar units which are installed in the vehicles, several handheld Lidar units are available for enforcement efforts. The Traffic Unit currently utilizes three brands of LIDAR speed measurement devices; the LTI pro lite, Stalker, and Kustom Pro-lite+.

Kustom police radar display
The handheld units consist of both Radar and Lidar technologies which allow the officer to observe speed violators in a more mobile fashion.

The Traffic Unit currently utilizes two brands of RADAR speed measurement; the Stalker Dual DSR Radar and the Kustom Golden Eagle directional unit. Both units are capable of tracking speed in stationary and moving mode, front and rear, as well as having the capability of tracking the fastest vehicle along with the strongest signal simultaneously.
